Entity description and role in FUEL4ME
Evodos has developed centrifugal technology, called Spiral Plate Technology (SPT). With SPT it is proven that micro-algae can be effectively harvested a low energy. The low energy is resulting from the combination of a low energy requirement to process the feed water (0.96 kWh/m3), the high cut-off rate (>99%) and the total dewatering of the algae (<2% extracellular water in the harvested algae paste).
Evodos has sold centrifuges that harvest algae in 4 continents (Asia, Australia, North-America, Europe). Evodos is continuously improving its products. This year it develops the large Evodos Type 250 which has a capacity with a factor 10 larger than the current machines. The US company Algae 2 Omega is development partner and launching customer for this machine.
Evodos is working on the algae harvesting and feeding back clarified water (WP3), the biomass production at a pilot scale (WP4), the data input for sustainability assessment (WP5), and the dissemination and exploitation activities (WP6)
